What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic and tantric practice. It’s a technique of Pratyahara (the sense withdrawal) that aims to consciously relax the deepest layers of body, mind and soul, to transform you at subconscious levels.

Scientific research has proven that 30 minutes of yoga Nidra practice can give the benefits of two hours of deep sleep, because the brain can reach the theta or even the delta state. Maybe you have heard of yogis who never sleep or sleep very little but never get tired. The secret of their boundless energy is Yoga Nidra! Ancient yogis and sages have been using this technique for thousands of years in order to save time by sleeping less so they can spend more time in their spiritual practice and philanthropic activities.

Yoga Nidra is also a complete meditation technique that can lead to the state of Samadhi (enlightenment). It is probably one of the rare meditation techniques that can be practiced also during Savasana.

Main benefits of Yoga Nidra:

  • Relaxes the deepest layers of our body, mind and soul
  • Can be used to eliminate any deep-rooted negative habits and patterns from our subconscious mind
  • Can be used to plant the seeds of positivity and new helpful habit into our subconscious mind to achieve a better and happier life
  • Can help us plant positive affirmations
  • Any vow taken during the practice of Yoga Nidra is bound to fructify
  • It helps releasing emotional blockages and trauma from our mind
  • 30 to 60 minutes of Yoga Nidra can give us the benefits and relaxation of 2-4 hours of deep sleep
  • It enhances our awareness at all levels
  • It is an enjoyable and relaxing meditation technique which can be practiced anytime anywhere
  • It has the power to transform our lives completely if we are consistent
